Prison Ministry

Our outreach into the community includes sharing Christ's love with those who are incarcerated in the El Dorado Correctional Facility.  In obedience to God's call to visit the prisoner (Matthew 25:34-40) volunteers with the Kairos Prison Ministry conduct a highly structured program designed to introduce Christ to those who so desperately need Him.

The Kairos program brings both positive and negative leaders from the inmate population together for a three day weekend event of carefully coordinated talks, discussions, chapel meditations and music led by the loving spirit of the servant volunteers.  During this event, each participant is given the opportunity to experience Christ's great love and forgiveness and accept God's call to a life of Christian witness and service to one another during their stay in the institution, and beyond.

After the weekend, participants are encouraged to establish strong Christian communities through ongoing participation in Pray and Share groups of 3 to 5 residents and monthly reunions.  These small groups meet weekly to share their lives on a deep spiritual level and to pray for one another, other residents, and the staff in the institution.
