Pastor
Phil Morris is a native Kansan, born in Wichita “a number of
years ago”. Pastor Morris attended Eden Theological
Seminary, a United Church of Christ Seminary in St. Louis,
Missouri. Phil has served in both extreme rural and urban
churches, as single pastor and member of a larger staff, and
served on various Annual Conference boards and agencies. His
first church was The Mt. Hope UMC beginning in 1973. He is
currently serving as Chair of the Conference Commission on
Equitable Compensation.
His father, Walter, was an electrician working for Boeing
and McMillan electric company for many years. His mother,
Agnes, was an Avon Representative and stay at home mother
for Phil and his brother, they are both deceased. The Morris
family were Charter Members of The Dellrose United Methodist
Church in Wichita.
Ministry is the opportunity for clergy and laity to work
together in serving God with the best that we can offer. The
church is the place to gather for worship, growth of
personal and communal faith, and where each person’s faith
continues to mature and stretch. In every appointment in my
ministry the goal has been to include, encourage and enable
each member of the church to reach their fullest potential
as a United Methodist Christian.
Ministry is not a single person but the entire congregation
working together, in harmony and in the joy of serving God.
We are all, each one of us, vital to the ministry of our
church.
Come and join the ministry team called The Rose Hill United
Methodist Church. Come join your sisters and brothers in our
ministry of serving God together.
